David's Bridal - Dublin, OH (on Sawmill) C
Where to begin - It wasn’t great and it wasn’t terrible, but it had room for improvement. We scheduled appointments and although were on time we always had to wait – perhaps because we were looking at bm dresses and not a wedding dress? This lhappened on two appointments so it wasn’t dumb luck.
My bms were looking at the convertible top but the person assigned to help us couldn’t instruct nor tie it and basically said “play with it.” Although they say they will pull dresses and check sizes, we ended up needing to pull dresses ourselves and didn’t really have any help but were definitely encouraged to come back because they were getting ready to close. Thanks for helping us?
We did find one dress that worked for my bms – however, they didn’t tell you that you needed to place an open order for the dresses so it would “flag” in their system if it would be discontinued. I actually learned this from a helpful salesperson at the Wisconsin DB. So I placed an open order. Sadly that gave us a week to get them ordered (the week of Thanksgiving and almost a year from the wedding) so we passed and started over looking for new dresses...elsewhere.

Men's Warehouse - Columbus, OH (Lennox) B+
The Men’s Warehouse experience wasn’t too bad. I did think we would actually have the guys try on some different outfits but nope – they had a sample to show and feel and that was it. At least it gave my groom and his gm something to look at (my guy is not all that visual).
The selections seemed smooth as well as the processed. They got measured and I felt assured everything was ok. I do caution you please do a follow up…they had the order in wrong for one of our ushers, there were two father’s of the groom, and quite a few names were spelt wrong (despite us spelling it out at the fitting). This of course made me a tad nervous if the measurements were going to be correct.
I will say though the staff was friendly, helpful, and the gave us the key dates we needed to know up front so there were no surprises so I did appreciate that.

Alterations - Linda Hammond A-
Linda’s pricing was very affordable and her name has been thrown out on TK quite a bit. She is in the Hilliard area which worked well for me as she was literally 10 minutes from my house.
We had communicated about what I would need on the phone and I did understand that no prices were set until she actually saw the dress, the fit, material, etc. I ended up getting my dress hemmed, zipper reinforced, bustle, and she made my straps removable. She offers to press the dresses as well but I was taking it to Green Bay and would need it done up there to be fresh for the wedding.
The only hiccup was that the hook that holds the dress at the very top was gone when my mom and bridesmaids were helping me with the dress – thankfully no malfunctions so it wasn’t noticed missing by me (they didn’t tell me until the following day).

Heather Claypool Photography - A-
Engagement photos
Heather was very flexible and easy to communicate with. She shot our engagement photos and there were some great shots – some so-so but that could have been the fact it was HOT that day. My husband wasn’t too thrilled he said he looked short and fat – so maybe some camera angles could have been better.
She was very knowledgeable of the various areas to take photos around Columbus. We had a few ideas but were open to suggestions so this too was very helpful. Heather met up with us so we could go over the books she had, get some ideas, and get to know each other a bit which was nice as well.
We love the guest book that came included in our engagement shoot package and received many compliments on it as well. Heather did a mock up and we were able to change up some photos or pages before she placed the order so we knew what we were getting.

Lovely Nails – A
I went to Lovely Nails because I knew they did solar nails. I had solar nails done for my brother’s wedding and received so many compliments on my nails I figured I might as well go that route for my wedding. They did my nails for my engagement photos – then I got rid of the nails for the duration of the planning process…seriously nails and I do not get along.
A month before the wedding I went and got a set put on and then had it filled right before I left for the wedding so my nails looked fresh – not too much white and a tad more natural just way better looking than my nails. Again I got plenty of compliments on my nails.
